Premier Division

St Josephs could clinch the title this weekend as they take on second-placed old rivals Oakview.

Joes currently top the division and are one point ahead of Sunday’s opponents, who have a better goal difference.

With only two games remaining this season, a victory at home would seal top spot for St Josephs who haven’t lifted the title since the 2009/2010 campaign.

Both clubs recorded victories at the weekend.

Joes travelled to West Herts and returned with all three points and a 6-1 win.

Ben Hammond and Sam Clarke both scored braces while Daryl Craft and Sean Sonner also found the net.

Oakview were in clinical form as they thumped Bushey 8-1.

Adam Lowton notched a hat-trick while Lee Armitt and Tom Kennedy both bagged braces. Ben Alexander completed his side’s scoring with a single while Jamie Brown replied for Bushey.

Division One

League-leaders Mill End Sports suffered a 3-1 defeat against third in the table Rifle Volunteer.

Rifle are unable to break into the top two but they produced a strong display to secure the three points.

Wayne Jackson, Paul Skuse and Mark Lomas were all on target for Volunteer, who could end their season by winning the Challenge Cup.

Division Two

Green Dragon’s 100 per cent league record ended at the weekend as they were beaten 5-2 by fellow title challengers and current leaders Old Fullerians.

Dragon’s fate remains in their own hands. Three wins from their remaining four matches would guarantee them the league title.

But they struggled on Sunday against Fullerians.

Craig Totten and Ben Williams grabbed singles but it was Steve Pich who proved decisive as he struck a hat-trick.

A Kiefer Shuttleworth strike and an own goal were not enough for Dragon, who are seven points off top spot.

Hammer Reserves are second in the table and they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Victoria.

Joe Cheshire, Matt Collins and Ben Foster were all on target for Victoria but Mark Smith, Jack Bishop and Alan Dunton struck for Hammer to earn their side a share of the points.

Division Three

A late surge up the table from Amici has seen the side move into top spot. They overcame Dome Bar Area 7-1 on Sunday.

Chris Coleman bagged a hat-trick in the victory while Luke Chapman, Bradley Thompson, Ron Partington and Joe Mitchell also found the net. Matt Bonnick scored the consolation for Dome Bar.

Liam Hanley struck eight goals, the biggest individual total of the season, for Oxhey Lions as they thrashed Railway Arms 11-0.

Hanley did the majority of the damage but Ryan King, Steven Howard and Dan Massey also chipped in to complete the rout.

Lions and Croxley FC Reserves are fighting for third place in the table, each have one game remaining but Lions have a much superior goal difference.

Lions’ last match of the season will be against RD FC who secured two victories from their double header against Shenley Wood.

The first match between the two sides ended in a 7-0 win for RD while the second contest resulted in a 3-0 victory.

Adam de Swart scored three goals in the two matches and there were singles for Paul Anderson, Nathan Jallow, Joe Ellis, Jake Levy, Ollie Weston, Adam Smith and Sean Bone.

Division Four

Met Police (Bushey) secured promotion to Division Three without playing. Their clash against Sun Postal United on Sunday was postponed but they can clinch the title with victories in their final two games of the campaign.

Only one match took place in the division and West Herts Reserves moved into second place as they beat Green Dragon Reserves 7-4.

Matt Jones netted four times for the Stags while Ian Gurney, Anthony Gilbert and Chris Blunden also found the net.

Dale Clark, Lewis Walker, Scott Bain and Ben Raynsford scored for Dragon but their efforts went unrewarded.
