Watford's Steve Finn is the most prolific bowler in the County Championship this season after he claimed eight wickets in Middlesex’s record-breaking seven-wicket victory against Yorkshire.
The 25-year-old, who has collected 23 wickets in three county matches this season, is slowly returning to his best form after being sent home from England’s tour of Australia last winter.
Finn claimed four for 50 in the first innings as Yorkshire were bowled out for 178. Middlesex’s reply was poor and they were out for just 123. Finn scored seven with the bat before being dismissed.
The former Parmiter’s School pupil was again Middlesex’s leading wicket taker in the second innings and he ended with four for 89. Yorkshire, however, posted a commanding total after ending on 416 all out.
Middlesex captain Chris Rogers performed excellently with the bat in their reply. The Australian scored 241 not out to help his side overcome their opponents. Middlesex finished with 472 for three – their highest winning fourth-innings score made at Lord’s.
