When Watford release the design of a new home kit there is one question that tends to cause more a debate among fans more than any other: will the shorts be red or black? This year has been no different so the Hornets are planning to resolve the issue by letting the fans decide.

The Hornets revealed their new yellow kits for the 2014/15 campaign yesterday and in the pictures they gave to the Watford Observer Tommie Hoban and Daniel Pudil were wearing black shorts. However, red shorts were also being worn in other promotional images released by the club, leading to another discussion among some supporters over what colour would be used.

Having asked the red or black shorts question to the club, the Watford Observer has been told this morning the Hornets will organise a vote for fans to decide what colour should be worn. Details of how this will work will be released in due course.

As with any vote, it's only fitting to test the weight of opinion by holding a poll. So will you be voting black or red shorts? Tell us below before noon on Tuesday.
