The next phase of the Watford Observer Young Sports Writer of the Year Awards is about to begin as the window opens for students to start submitting entries for judging.

Over the past three months, competition entries from six secondary schools, Watford FC's Community Sports & Education Trust and home-educated students have been uploaded to our website across three academic Key Stages and in three categories - live reporting, feature writing and comment.

From Monday and until Saturday, May 31 these entries can be put forward for judging, or students from those educational establishments that have signed up for the awards can put submit fresh content for the competition stage of the awards that were established to promote sports writing among young people.

Those parties that have signed have today received an email detailing the procedure for submitting entries for judging.

Further details of the presentation ceremony and the composition of the judging panel will be revealed in due course.

You can read the entries that have been submitted so far here.
