THE Book Club meet this Monday at Val’s home, 7.30pm, and the book under review is The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz. New members are very welcome – phone Anne on 01531 632439 to find out more.

The village Bible Study group are meeting this week at Ann Williamson’s home at Prior’s Court, 10am and are looking at the life of King David (the one who wrote most of the Psalms). All welcome to come along.

This coming week the Garden Club are doing something a little different: get together with them on Wednesday evening for a guided walk through the nearby orchards. Meet at Orchard View/Pullen House at 7pm and wear appropriate shoes. Visitors welcome and a small fee will be charged.

A reminder that Hilary Ayling will be entertaining on Saturday, May 17 at the Memorial Hall with a selection of Joyce Grenfell monologues, 3pm-5pm. This is a fund-raising event for Christ Church. This Sunday is the Family Service at the church, 9.30am.

It’s time for the annual Memorial Hall’s spring-clean! Come along on Saturday, May 31 at 10am with your sleeves rolled up, mops and brooms at the ready, plenty of elbow grease, and join in the fun! Refreshments will be provided.
