Is our manager the one to bring the best out of him? Perhaps.
Who knows ? A contributor to Watford FC Rumours site has suggested that Di Matteo will be installed as manager by Friday .. or when the month ends and Chelsea cease paying him... Given the accolade about Tamas from Di Matteo coincidence!, probably but it does beg the question.......or may be conspiracy is the name of the game. The close season could be intersting to say the least...............

On the radio a few days ago they said Di Matteo was taking a job in Germany.
That's more likely than us, but never say never. Di Matteo is apparently still earning £130k pw from Chelsea. Unless we break the wage structure, which is unlikely, then Di Matteo is likely to get elsewhere. Last December it was rumoured he was going back to WBA and now the Southampton job is available. Both of these would be more attractive than the horns."

Watford have completed the signing of experienced centre half Gabriel Tamas.

The 30-year-old spent the second half of this season at Doncaster Rovers, where he made 13 starts and one substitute appearance for the side as they were relegated from the Championship.

Tamas has played for a host of clubs during his career including Galatasaray, Spartak Moscow, Auxerre and Celta Vigo.

The Romanian international spent three and a half years at West Bromwich Albion, making 77 appearances before his contract expired.

Tamas has had several off-the-field problems in the past.

In 2011 the defender and ex-Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu were given life bans by Romania after drinking before a friendly match, although the bans were lifted 43 days later.

In June he was arrested and jailed after kicking in a door to get into a block of flats in Bucharest. He was said to be drunk at the time and was arrested after falling asleep on the first floor.

In October last year his contract with Romanian club CFR Cluj was terminated after just a week due to alcohol-related incidents.

He was also involved in a nightclub fracas whilst at Doncaster Rovers which resulted in the defender suffering a fractured cheek bone.
