The Dacorum District Under-11 team have reached the final of the ESFA seven-a-side National Cup Final.
The game had been due to be played on Saturday but inclement weather has seen the final postponed until a later date.
Held at Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training ground, Dacorum were competing at the finals of the tournament for the first time in their history.
After a slow start to the competition, Dacorum were left needing to beat Liverpool District by two clear goals to reach the semi-finals.
Matheos Maneli scored a wonder goal in the first minute to set Dacorum on their way to a 3-0 half-time lead.
Liverpool fought back strongly in the second half to score twice, leaving Dacorum needing one more goal to progress.
In the final seconds of the game, a long ball forward from goalkeeper David Saunders panicked the Liverpool defence, resulting in an own goal which sealed Dacorum’s progress.
Portsmouth awaited Dacorum in the semi-final and there was no repeat of the drama of last time out as goals from captain Harry McHugh and Louie Potton secured Dacorum’s safe passage to the final.
