The deadline for students to submit their Watford Observer Young Sports Writer of the Year Awards entries for judging has been extended by a further week.

Over the past three months, entries from six secondary schools, Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust and home-educated students have been uploaded to our website across three academic Key Stages and in three categories – live reporting, feature writing and comment.

The window for submitting entries for judging for the awards, which have been organised in conjuction with the Watford & Three Rivers and Watford & Hertsmere school sports partnerships, was originally meant to close on Saturday. However, in order to give as many students as possible the opportunity to enter and because of delays perhaps caused by half-term, it has now been extended to midnight on Saturday, June 7.

Entries that have already been uploaded to our website can be submitted attending educational establishments that have signed up for the awards, or fresh content can also be put forward for judging.

All organisations that signed up have been sent details of the procedure for submitting entries for judging.
