Question: What makes a club legend? Seems a lot go for the natural choice of player skill, which is good but we also have to remember loyalty, passion, finance and outright support in this mix to reflect true legend status that allows chairmen and managers to be included. For me the inclusion of John Barnes is a no no, great player but not loyal enough to his history, when have you heard him refer to Watford as his foundation stone! People like Mooney, Blissett easy shoe in, others like Doyley for loyalty and passion and obviously people like Graham Taylor and Elton who shaped the club into a bigger club, how about Les Simmons grounds manager and loyal club servant for over 50 years, a legend in my eyes! Also the likes of Coton, Gibbs, Jackett and Helguson would make my shortlist.
I don't know why Barnes is reluctant to talk about what Watford did for him.

If it were not for Watford he would be a chubby man playing Saturday cricket in Jamaica.

I feel f/annoyed when articles say things like Kenny Dalgleish plucked him from obscurity and made him a top player. JCB played for England at Watford - was better than any of his Liverpool teammates when he arrived and the only thing KD did for him was got him to take the blame for KD being a crap "general" manager at Celtic."
