Old Merchant Taylors’ begin their 2014 Cricketer Cup campaign with an away first round tie against 2013 beaten finalists Old Cranleighans at Cranleigh on Sunday.
OMT are led by new captain Ash Mehta and he has selected a strong team featuring experienced and young players.
The winners of the first round tie are drawn to play at home to the winners of the tie between Haileybury Hermits and Old Amplefordians in the second round on June 29.
OMT team manager Philip Newfield said: “OMT know that we are playing against strong opponents, but are well prepared, and very focused on playing at our very best standard and intensity in order to achieve a positive result.”
