Students from Watford Grammar School for Girls have won an inter-schools archery competition last week.
Watford Girls pupils beat off stiff competition from Grimsdyke Middle School and Swaminarayan Independent High School pupils to claim the trophy.
The tournament, which is in its second year, was held at Watford Girls Grammer School.
The three teams – comprised of eight pupils from each – were competing from a distance of 15m, shooting three dozen arrows.
Swaminarayan Independent came second, with Grimsdyke Middle School in third place.
Archery GB coach Colin Okin said afterwards: “It is my hope that I will be able to encourage at least one more school to join the competition next year.
“I’m very proud of all those that took part, they are a credit to themselves and their schools.”
