Rickmansworth Golf Club beat Moor Park as the two clubs met for the first time in 77 years since an agreement was struck between the two.

When Rickmansworth Council bought the Moor Park Estate in 1937, one of the conditions of sale was Moor Park had to give their East or Ladies course as a public course for the people of Rickmansworth.

Since then, the two clubs have never met but on Monday of last week, a mixed friendly game using both the courses crossing from one to the other was arranged.

It proved difficult for members of both clubs to adjust to the fast greens on Moor Park and then the slow greens on Rickmansworth, with the match being won by Rickmansworth on the last putt on the final green.
