Herts Cricket League

Division Three

A ruthless bowling display from Israr Hussain helped Bushey record a comfortable seven-wicket win against North Mymms Seconds.

Bushey won the toss and elected to bowl. It was the right decision on a difficult wicket and North Mymms were dismissed for just 66. Hussain ended with five for 29 from an impressive 18 overs.

North Mymms had no answer to a well-drilled Bushey side. They knocked off the runs they needed in just 19.5 overs, Chandan Sharma top-scored with 34 not out.

Division Four

Chorleywood Seconds recorded their second successive win as they beat Cheshunt by three wickets in a low-scoring game.

The decision to bat first backfired on Cheshunt as they were bowled out first for just 86 in the 30th over.

The wickets were shared around the Wood bowlers with opener Jamie Smithson taking three for 32 from his 13 overs and Chris Lee claiming three for three from his 3.2 overs at the end of the innings.

In reply, Wood found the going equally hard as they slumped to 20 for four. Matt Rose steadied the innings with a determined knock of 32 which put the home side on the brink of victory.

Eventually skipper Jeremy Hinds and Vikash Patel saw their side home with just three wickets in hand in just the 24th over of an eventful match.

A disappointing display with the bat proved costly for Langleybury Seconds as they were beaten by 108 runs against Hertingfordbury.

Bury bowled first but found it difficult against a strong opposition batting order who went on to post 247 for eight from their 53 overs.

Langleybury could only score 139 in reply and their innings was brought to an end in the 41st over.

Division Five

Captain Dayle Littlejohn almost single-handedly won 30 points for Leverstock Green Seconds at Hatfield & Crusaders Seconds.

He scythed through the hosts batting, taking seven for 19 with his medium-pace swing bowling, before rescuing a failing run chase with 36 not out as he and tail-ender Sam Roberts steered Green past Hatfield’s 135 with just two wickets to spare.

Hemel Hempstead Thirds moved up to fourth in the table with a comfortable 93-run win against Chipperfield Clarendon Seconds. Hemel lost the toss and were inserted.

It proved the wrong decision as they went on to post an imposing total of 210 for nine. Neil Morgan produced a fine knock as he scored 109.

The Hemel seamers then took control. Rory Fraser took three for 22 and alongside Adam Moulster (four for 32), they demolished the Chipperfield batting order to run out comfortable winners.
