KIDS belted out the tunes during the Delamere Street Festival in Winsford on Saturday, June 21.

Children from five primary schools kicked off Dfest by taking part in the parade before taking to the stage outside St John’s Church.

Winsford mayor, clr Gina Lewis, opened the festival alongside junior mayor, Megan Hamill, before crowds enjoyed the day’s entertainment.

Reverend George Crowder said: “We had a fantastic day and we love to bring the community together. We had our church stall out as well. We want the church to be at the heart of the community and welcome people who want to explore the Christian faith.”

Elsewhere on the stage, Winsford Academy, St Josephs, Over St John, Oak View Academy, Over Hall, and Grange Community Primary all performed.

In the evening there was a special performance by Sowetan boy band and adopted Winsfordians, Africa Entsha.

Crowds also enjoyed street stalls, fun fair rides and a hog roast.

In St John’s itself, visitors were able to peruse an extensive art exhibition on the theme of peace, as well as a commemorative display of photos and memorabilia from the First and Second World Wars provided by local historian, Alan Ravenscroft.
