Watford's Davide Faraoni looks set to return to Italy with the defender indicating he has rejoined Udinese

Watford Observer: Faraoni looks set to return to Italy Faraoni looks set to return to Italy

Davide Faraoni’s time at Watford appears to have come to an end, with a move back to Italy seemingly inevitable for the wing-back.

The Hornets have not commented on Faraoni’s future but he has used his Twitter account to indicate he has moved back to Udinese, although the Italian club have yet to confirm a deal.

The 22-year-old is not part of Watford’s pre-season training camp in Udine and he has been linked with a transfer to Hellas Verona, Sassuolo and Palermo.

Faraoni joined Watford on a permanent basis last summer and went on to make 43 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, scoring four goals.

He started his career at Lazio before joining Inter Milan in July 2010. He spent two years with the club before moving to Udinese in 2012.

However, after just one season with the Little Zebras, he moved on to Vicarage Road.

Pretty ridiculous that it didn't work out for him with us given his track record... but he's obviously happier over in Italy, so good luck to him!

Shame, he was one of the few who looked better and better as last season went on. I was sure he would have a good 14/15. Oh well. Best wishes to him!!

Udine payed 5 million for him and sent him here for nothing and you expect a transfer fee?

If Faraoni goes, I'm expected more and more that Parades will sign. They seem like similar players. In all honesty, though, I'd rather we got a more defensive RB - more a right sided Pudil than another Faraoni.

That way if we're defending a lead I feel secure at the back - which I never really did with Faraoni - who incidentally was our 5th top scorer last season, even though he was a 2nd choice in the right sided wing back role to Anya.

Could have been really good, but quite clearly didn't give the slightest toss. He can produce moments of magic, like the goal against Norwich, or the cross to Fessi against Huddersfield, but they were few and far between. Oh well, hopefully Paredes actually cares.

For me, too, that was the problem. He has a lot of quality. He could have contributed more, but I don't think he was really that bothered. I think he wanted back to Italy. Probably the best move for both parties.

Sounds a bit like someone else on our books who joined last summer...... moments of majic, has a lot of quality, could be really good, didn't seem bothered. Also seemed worried about getting hurt, avoided the physical stuff and you could imagine having a look in the mirror before leaving the dressing room.
