Kayleigh McCarthy won the East of England Trampolining Championships for the second year running, coming out on top against more than 300 competitors from the region.
McCarthy, who lives in Watford, finished with a score of 59.2, enough to make her the highest-scoring entrant at the entire competition.
In her first routine – which is focused on control and precision – McCarthy scored 26.7, giving her a lead of 1.5 marks ahead of the second routine.
This tests the competitor’s ability to execute more advanced moves and McCarthy excelled once more, scoring 22.5 marks by using a routine with a difficulty of 10.0, included in her overall score for the round.
McCarthy, who belongs to Sprung Loaded Trampoline Club in Hitchin, finished comfortably in first – four marks ahead of second place.
