Long-term Watford target Dániel Tőzsér says he will not play for Parma this season despite joining the Italian club on Friday.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with I Crociati but a loan move to Watford remains a likely outcome.

The Hornets have been confident of completing a deal for Tőzsér throughout the summer and the Hungarian international posted on photo-sharing site Instagram yesterday: “Just to see clearly I will not play for Parma this season... To be continue!”

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported last week that Tőzsér would sign for Parma and would then be sent to Vicarage Road for a second loan spell.

Tőzsér originally joined up with the Hornets in January and missed just one game during his loan spell.

He featured for the full 90 minutes in his 20 appearances despite arriving at Vicarage Road having not played a competitive game since May 2013.

Tőzsér impressed during his first two months at the club before his form dipped but club staff believed tiredness may have been a contributing factor.
