Watford target Daniel Tőzsér says he will not play for Parma this season despite joining the Italian club on Friday

Watford Observer: Picture: Action Images Picture: Action Images

Long-term Watford target Dániel Tőzsér says he will not play for Parma this season despite joining the Italian club on Friday.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with I Crociati but a loan move to Watford remains a likely outcome.

The Hornets have been confident of completing a deal for Tőzsér throughout the summer and the Hungarian international posted on photo-sharing site Instagram yesterday: “Just to see clearly I will not play for Parma this season... To be continue!”

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported last week that Tőzsér would sign for Parma and would then be sent to Vicarage Road for a second loan spell.

Tőzsér originally joined up with the Hornets in January and missed just one game during his loan spell.

He featured for the full 90 minutes in his 20 appearances despite arriving at Vicarage Road having not played a competitive game since May 2013.

Tőzsér impressed during his first two months at the club before his form dipped but club staff believed tiredness may have been a contributing factor.

The Italian transfer/loan system is very peculiar isn't it...

but happy days anyway - I'd rather have a loaned Danny Tozser than no Tozser at all - he's a class act.

Welcome aboard (assuming it goes through)

We can't afford Tozser and Udinese and Granada don't want to buy him for us. But Udinese do have a player that Parma wants.
So the deal is that they'll let Parma sign that player if they sign and loan Tozser to us, with us paying back his transfer fee if/when promoted.

As I've said on other posts, you really need to understand the Italian Internal Transfer system to appreciate what's going on here. Danny will be here within 3 weeks and the player Parma want is Aleandro Rosi. It's a definite it's just about softening blows elsewhere I guess!!

What were Parma thinking? If he's loaned out for the season, they'll have him for a year, where he will be negotiating his contract again? Confusing? But, to have him for a year would be great, providing his loan isn't too expensive? Could that be the catch?

Of course we will be the whipping boys yet again. Need to use the national press bias to our advantage. Exceptional season would be a start. They might finally see that what the Pozzos are doing is creating sustainable top level football across Europe. Luv the Horns!

Unfortunately there's been no consistent football of any level being played at Watford over the past 12 months. I still don't get it... what's the long-term plan to get a settled Quality team out there, week in, week out?

Parma don't want Tozser themselves but are trading his market value to facilitate the Rosi transfer to Genoa.
We pay his wages and Parma retain Tozser's potential gain in value if he stars in a Watford promotion season.
Presumably there are also tax advantages by avoiding any transfer fee cash flows.

That sounds feasible. Seems as though the Rosi deal hijacked our bid for the player. Maybe the Watford loan formed part of that deal, I hope so and Parma don't pull the plug on it.

I think it is an integral part of the deal between Genoa, Parma and Udinese. Must be a logical reason why this round robin has occurred. Obviously Parma do not want Tozser themselves for next season and probably not at all.

Daniel had expressed a desire to return to us, so presumably he agreed to the move on the understanding he would be loaned out (to us). He has stated on-line that he wants to help propel us into the Premier League, at which point we would be able to afford the fee and his salary.

The rather complex financial interplay between the Italian clubs might seem alien to us. Having worked in Italy briefly - somewhile back admittedly, it does not surprise and may have either fiscal or Italian FA regulations as its rationale behind it. As long as it doesn't break rules and works to our benefit, who cares?

But Udinese do have a player that Parma wants. So the deal is that they'll let Parma sign that player if they sign and loan Tozser to us, with us paying back his transfer fee if/when promoted.[/p]
Who is the Player Parma want?[/p]
As I've said on other posts, you really need to understand the Italian Internal Transfer system to appreciate what's going on here. Danny will be here within 3 weeks and the player Parma want is Aleandro Rosi. It's a definite it's just about softening blows elsewhere I guess!![/p]
Very good... except for one thing....Aleandro Rosi is a Parma player.[/p]
He is now, he only joined this week hence why Danny will moving to us[/p]
It looks like he's just joined Genoa from Parma in the last couple of days. That would explain the Toszer move in the opposite direction, but not the Watford loan.[/p]
Parma don't want Tozser themselves but are trading his market value to facilitate the Rosi transfer to Genoa. We pay his wages and Parma retain Tozser's potential gain in value if he stars in a Watford promotion season. Presumably there are also tax advantages by avoiding any transfer fee cash flows.[/p]
That sounds feasible. Seems as though the Rosi deal hijacked our bid for the player. Maybe the Watford loan formed part of that deal, I hope so and Parma don't pull the plug on it.[/p]
As long as it doesn't break rules and works to our benefit, who cares? soulfulhornet

Call me old-fashioned but I rather enjoyed the simplicity of giving Barrow £2,000 and receiving Keith Eddy in return. That seemed to work out well enough and both parties knew where they stood. He was quite good too.
