Watford have re-signed Dániel Tőzsér on loan for the next two seasons with the view to a permanent move.

Tőzsér excelled during the second half of last season after joining the Golden Boys on loan from Genoa in January.

Watford had initially hoped to sign the holding midfielder permanently but a two-year loan deal has been agreed with new parent club Parma.

The Hornets have also confirmed they have the option to buy the Hungary international at the end of the loan agreement

It was confirmed at the weekend that Tőzsér had joined Parma from Genoa however the player posted a message on Instagram confirming he would not be playing for the Italian side next season.

And we understand the loan agreement between Watford and Tőzsér was finalised today.

The 29-year-old only missed one game after joining the Golden Boys, featuring for the full 90 minutes in his 20 outings, despite arriving at the club having not played competitively since May 2013.

Tőzsér impressed during his first couple of months at Watford before his form dipped, with club staff suggesting tiredness was a contributing factor.

The holding midfield role had been a problem position for Watford prior to the Hungarian international's arrival, after Jonathan Hogg and John Eustace left the club last summer with loanee George Thorne only a temporary solution.

We have a very good squad for next season right now. I'm very hopeful for next season now. As long as we can keep Deeney and Abdi fit, we're in for a good one. I still kinda wish we'd get another fullback for security, but other than that (and POSSIBLY another striker), I think we are fairly covered in every position.

This is turning into a storyline that even Corrie would struggle to match. All we need is to get Gareth Bale on loan and we'll be flying.

Seriously though, this is great news and bodes well. Hopefully our key players will stay fit this season and we can settle with a stable team.

YNWA - wrong club but I don't care

Weird? Yes, great for us yes, yes yes. Hope we can now keep Troy and Angella. If the side plays to its potential we will be in the mix come May. Daniel welcome. Clearly he wants to be here or why agree to 2 years with us .. just the mechanics of the deal that seems odd.

I think our squad will be very competitive.

In all fairness, Parma have a bit of history with this kind of stuff. They've got something like 220 players on their books, with most of them being loaned out to tiny clubs in Italy and neighbouring countries. E.g. there are teams that are going bankrupt in Slovenia and Austria, and they loan their entire teams from Parma to stay afloat. It was explained in further detail in an edition of FourFourTwo, but I can't remember the details. I'm sure it makes sense for Parma, after all, most people still don't understand the Watford-Udinese-Gran

Agree, the Macheivelian world of Italian football appears strange. It is. But look whether players are signed on a permanent contract or are loanees, the terms of the deal are not relevant. The nature of the individual is - their character etc.

In recent years loanees have frequently been better than those on permanent deals.. Ben Foster, Tom Cleverley, Almen Abdi have all earned WO player of the year - Marlon was brilliant when on loan (first 6 months).

I think Tozser has the capacity to become a Watford legend. especially if he secures Prem football...

Such an important part of the jigsaw, welcome back Daniel. Still hoping we have signed Paredes, if so, unless we lose anybody I think we are almost done. Very happy with all the signings albeit Cathcart needs to win a few over, but lets wipe the slate clean on that one.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an experienced back up to Gomez arrive and Bondy go out on a season loan at League One or even lesser Championship level, just don't need him making the mistakes that he has to in order to learn whilst in our first team.

Let's just hope that our man Sannino does have the ability in his locker to get such a talented squad of players out of this division (in the right direction) Unfortunately I had enough of him by the end of last season and was hoping for change, however I'll support him wholeheartedly and nothing would please me more than him to prove me wrong, if not I think he'll be gone by October if we're not off to a flyer.

Come on Watford, no more fluffing about, lets do it!!!

Parma's model is a strange one. The have over 200 players on their books of which over 100 are on loan. Each player has their wages paid in full by the club that is loaning them and in some cases the club is paying a monthly fee on top. (they are like a car rental company). They are also hoping to make money on players being potentially sold on for large fees or becoming good enough to play for the first team. Actually - its not that stupid a system.

The squad is coming together very very nicely now. What a mouthwatering lineup (442) - Gomes - Doyley/Cathcart - Angella - Hoban/Belks/Ekstrand - Pudil - Anya- Abdi- Toszer - Dyer - Deeney - Vydra. And players like Fessi, Batto, Ranegie, Murray, Fabbrini filling the bench. Guess the pressure will be on Beppe now to get these guys firing quickly now that they have the championship experience. Roll on August 9th - can't wait!

You can still get 7's on promotion so that's where I would go. That way you've got 1st, 2nd and play off winners covered...
Where can u get 7-1 on promotion...could u let me know...best I have seen is 5-1 betfair

Now we need to try and keep Troy. See that Ross McCormack has gone to Fulham for £11m. In that market, Troy has to be worth at least £8m possibly more. Goalscorers in this division are at a premium - McCormack, Rhodes before him etc.

I do not think many teams will be prepared to meet a valuation of say £8m for Troy and those in the Premier League would be taking a punt on someone who has never played at that level.

I think the McCormack fee increases the chance of Deeney staying.
Or is this wishful thinking on my part ?

My next poem is entitled "He's a c0ck, he wears pinks frocks, Holloway, Holloway"

Ah! Now I get it. To be clear, I love the signing. It would have been tragic to lose him. Glad I'm not a Parma fan. I can't afford two hundred shirts.

In the options you give here,, unless Hoban gets the nod or our reserve keeper fullfils the criteria, we do not have the requisite number of homegrown players, I agree that these folks would be my first choice but certainly the bench may be shaped more by the homegrown rule than the best talent available (especially if Paredes displaces your doyley/cathcart option)
