Matthew Gauntlett won his second prize on the Herts Futures Tour after finishing as Division One gross runner-up following a count back.
The 11-year-old, who belongs to West Herts Golf Club, finished second with a two over par score of 29, missing out on the top spot on count back at the Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre.
A birdie on the third hole for Gauntlett saw him join the exclusive ‘Twos Club’ for players who have shot a birdie on any hole on the tour.
As a result of his success on the tour, Gauntlett has seen his Futures Tour handicap cut by four strokes.
The Herts Futures Tour took place on the par three course with 90 youngsters putting on an impressive day of golf in Stevenage, where 55 of the junior golfers competing played under their handicap on the day.
The next Futures Tour event takes place on Friday, July 25 at Chesfield Downs Golf Club. Application forms to join the tour are available from the www.hertfordshirejuniorgolf.info website.
