Chess Valley League

Division One

Hemel Hempstead enjoyed a comfortable win over Abbots Langley on Sunday to maintain their place at the summit.

Struggling at 41 for five after 18 overs, late order batting rescued Hemel, with Jay O’Nien (44) and Ali Leighton (33) pivotal.

Thirty-one for Scott Radcliffe and 23 not out from Billy May saw Town close on 207.

Abbots also faltered with the bat and were 66 for five at halfway.

Radcliffe finished with three for 18 and O’Nien took three for 28 to dismiss the visitors for 140.

Division Seven

Hemel Hempstead Seconds enjoyed a ten-run win over Abbots Langley Seconds in a low-scoring affair.

Batting first, Dave Jenkins (31) and Tony Linfoot (20) were two of just three batsmen to make it to double figures as Hemel were dismissed for 93.

In reply, only Lewis Hodgins (38) and Matthew Longworth (25) hit double figures as Linfoot (four for 12) cleaned out the hosts for 83.
