Southern Area middleweight champion Elliott Matthews took just two minutes to knock-out Attila Tibor Nagy in their bout at the Camden Centre on Saturday.

Matthews, from Rickmansworth, only discovered his opponent last Tuesday but that made little difference as he ended the eight-round contest early.

From the opening bell, Matthews pressed Nagy into counters, drew mistakes and punished them with powerful southpaw punches.

The Hungarian was hurt by a left uppercut and Matthews then knocked him down for the full count.

The victory extended Matthews’ unbeaten record to 13 fights, seven of which have been by knock out.
