Watford have made an enquiry for Leicester City midfielder Andy King but were told he is not for sale.

Reports today suggested the Hornets had bid £1.2m for King but we have been told it was an enquiry, not an official offer.

King has been an integral part of Leicester’s success in recent years but the 25-year-old had to settle for a place on the bench for a large part of the second half of last season.

As previously reported, Watford are looking to sign another attack-minded centre midfielder as they look to challenge for automatic promotion.

The club are also keen to add another holding midfielder and a home-grown goalkeeper to their squad.

Leicester have seen a £6.5m bid for Watford striker Troy Deeney rejected. Read more here.
