The Watford Observer have been told the Hornets have still not accepted any bids for Troy Deeney despite his absence during last night’s game with Boreham Wood.
Deeney was left out of the squad who travelled to Meadow Park for last night’s 1-0 win.
Watford refused to explain his absence before kick-off and head coach Beppe Sannino would not comment on Deeney after the match.
With several clubs submitting bids for the 26-year-old recently, it led to the assumption among many supporters that Deeney had agreed a move away from the club.
However, we have this morning been told that no bids have been accepted for Deeney and the club expect him to take part in training today.
Deeney's absence at Boreham Wood and refusal to discuss the matter does suggest Sannino is bracing himself for the striker's departure though.
Leicester City, Burnley, Swansea City plus another Premier League and Championship club have submitted bids for Deeney in recent weeks.
Everton, Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City are also known to be interested in the former Walsall man.
Sannino praised Deeney's attitude and professionalism this week amid all the speculation. You can read his comments here.
