Beppe Sannino has praised the character and personality of Keith Andrews following the Bolton Wanderers midfielder’s loan move to Watford.

Andrews joined the Golden Boys on a season-long loan last week and played 55 minutes during the 5-0 victory over St Albans City on Saturday.

The 33-year-old has played for 11 clubs, has Premier League experience and has 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland, starting all three of their games at Euro 2012.

Sannino said: “Andrews is a man and a player who will help us. He is a man with good personality and good character and I believe he is a good addition to the squad.”

Andrews played in the holding role at Clarence Park but was also considered a box-to-box midfielder in the past.

When Sannino was asked if he planned to play him only as a holding player, the Italian responded: “He is a midfielder who can play in holding or [as a centre midfielder] on the left or right.”
