Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed he wants to sign Watford captain Troy Deeney.

The R’s are one of several clubs interested in signing the 26-year-old and Redknapp claims talks have taken place with the Hornets.

“He’s a player that interests me," Redknapp said, as quoted by Get West London.

"The chairman [Tony Fernandes] has been talking to Watford but I think there’s one or two other clubs bidding as well.

"I think Burnley came and made an offer and Leicester too, so we’ll have to wait and see with that one."

Leicester City, Burnley and Swansea City have made official bids along with another Championship and Premier League club.

Everton and Norwich City are two of the other teams believed to be interested in Deeney, who scored 25 goals for the Golden Boys during the 2013/14 campaign and has netted 45 in the last two years.

However, the Hornets' price tag for Deeney has ended Burnley's interest, according to manager Sean Dyche. Read more here.
