Gianluca Vialli's Watford took part in a prestige pre-season friendly against a strong Inter Milan side in Lecco.

The Inter side, boasting World Cup winner Laurent Blanc, Italian internationals Francisco Toldo and Christian Vieri and Portugal's Sergio Conceicao, were kept at bay in the first half.

After the break, however, Mohamed Kallon and Clarence Seedof gave the Italian side a cushion, Micah Hyde grabbing a quick consolation as the Hornets went down 2-1.
