Watford defender Reece Brown has joined League One side Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old defender, who joined the Hornets from Manchester United last summer, spent the final months of last season out on loan at Carlisle United but could not prevent the Cumbrians’ slide into League Two.
Brown made just three appearances for the Golden Boys last season and last week joined the Tykes on a trial, featuring in the 1-1 draw with Hull City at Oakwell.
His only league appearance for the club came as a second-half substitute in the 3-3 draw at Reading last August.
The Manchester-born centre-half joined Watford on a two-year deal having previously gained Football League experience on loan at Bradford City, Oldham Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Ipswich Town.
