Radlett Women remain second in the North London League Division A, after winning their 29th consecutive match by beating Hampstead by 16 runs on Sunday.

Despite being a player shy, Radlett kept the pressure on top-of-the-league Ickenham, who faltered for the first time this season, losing matches against Old Actonians and Hemel Hempstead.

Katie Pankhurst was dismissed early but partner Anna Harris (66 not out) put on several good partnerships with Samantha Battman (16), Natasha Martin (29) and Alice Lawman (14 not out) moving the score along.

Profligate bowling from Hampstead saw Radlett pick up 19 boundaries and 29 extras on their way to 158 for four.

Harris then excelled with the ball as well, taking two wickets in her first over as she picked up figures of three for 26 from her six-over spell.

Despite Harris’ display with the ball, Hampstead skipper Lucy Horitz (72 not out) provided a continual threat with the bat.

Assisted by Jess Black (20 not out), Hampstead continued to score steadily but eventually ran out of time and ended ons 142 for six.
