Herts Phoenix finished fifth in Division 2 North of the Southern Athletics League after sharing first place with Ryston Runners at Saturday’s final meeting of the season in Peterborough.

Ross Armorgie made a strong return to competition after two injury-plagued years, winning the ‘B’ string high jump (1.90m), long jump (5.80m), triple jump (10.45m) and javelin (37.70m).

Amorgie’s elder brother, Bradley, won the same events in the ‘A’ string. Younger sister Gemma won the 'A' string high jump (1.45m) and recorded a new personal best by winning the triple jump (9.17m). Sister Laura won the 'A' string 100m hurdles in 16.90.

Beck Grover recorded a personal best by winning the 'A' string 400m in 52.70 and won the 800m (1.59.90) too.

Peter Townsend won the ‘A’ string 1,500m (4.16.00) and Steve Prosser triumphed in the ‘B’ string event (4.28.70).

Jason Kingwell enjoyed throwing success, winning the ‘A’ string hammer with 43.34m and the shot putt with a distance of 11.52m - a new personal best.

The ‘A’ string javelin was won by Connor Martin (54m), whilst Eleanor Moss won the women’s ‘A’ string javelin with a throw of 30.81m.

There were ‘B’ string wins for debutant Elizabeth Doyle in the 3,000m (12.55.50), Stephanie Williams in 100m Hurdles (17.70) and Phoebe Love in 1,500m steeplechase (7.04.40).

Meanwhile, Abigail Griffiths picked up three wins, clearing 1.35m in the high jump, 3.86m in the long jump and 7.47m in the triple jump.
