Watford Harriers’ William Jarvis set a new club record in the javelin at the final Eastern Young Athletics meeting of the season on Sunday.
The Under-13, who represented Hertfordshire at last week's Intercounties competition, broke the previous record with a distance of 36.02m, as well as winning the discus with a distance of 22.96m.
Jarvis completed a memorable treble by winning the ‘B’ string shot putt with a personal best of 7.60m.
Jess Biggerstock marked her debut by winning the Under-15 high jump by clearing a height of 1.61m.
Remi Jessop set two new personal bests in the sprints, winning the 100m in 12.80 and finishing second in the 200m in 27.20.
Jess Emery built on a strong showing in the Eastern Athletics Championships by winning the Under-15 discus and shot putt, whilst Under-13 Taia Tunstall won the ‘A’ string javelin (15.01m) and shot putt (7.26m).
In the ‘A’ string long jump, Marli Jessop was victorious with a distance of 4.14m. Kai Tunstall set a personal best of 8.06m to win the ‘B’ string shot putt and recorded a season’s best distance of 19.25m in the ‘B’ string discus.
Molly Jarvis won the ‘B’ string discus with a throw of 21.05m, whilst back on the track, Kandi Paxton won the ‘B’ string 100m in a time of 13.10.
John Sanseau led from the start to the win the 800m in 2.10.70.
