Hornets boss Beppe Sannino says he will use tonight’s Capital One Cup first round tie at Stevenage as an opportunity to rotate his side as those players who didn’t feature at the weekend “deserve” a chance.

Watford impressively defeated Bolton Wanderers 3-0 on Saturday and the likes of Tommie Hoban, Lloyd Doyley and Mathias Ranegie didn’t make it off the bench while Odion Ighalo and Diego Fabbrini weren’t even included in the match-day squad.

With such a strong pool of players to choose from this season, Sannino says it is important to make changes this evening at Broadhall Way.

He explained: “I will give the other players a chance because they deserve that. I believe there will be a few changes because Saturday’s game with Norwich is very close.

“I have a squad of players who I would like to put on the pitch.”

Sean Murray is available to return after injury while Keith Andrews could make his Hornets debut as he was ineligible at the weekend as the Bolton Wanderers loanee couldn’t face his parent club.
