Kings Langley quickly adjusted to life in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division as they defeated Colney Heath 2-1.

Kings controlled the contest from the first whistle and limited the home side to one chance in the opening 25 minutes.

Their dominance was rewarded when Danny Hutchins won possession and fired into the Colney net.

Langley deservedly led at the interval and they made it 2-0 just after the hour mark when Connor Toomey lashed home after an intelligent pass from Alex Campana.

Heath had been restricted during the contest but they pulled a goal back with 14 minutes remaining when Aaron Clarke was brought down in the penalty area by Luke Ladyman and Matt Standen converted the spot kick.

Kings came under pressure in the closing stages but held on to secure their first three points of the campaign.
