Beppe Sannino believes “with one year of goals and improvement” Hornets striker Matej Vydra can become a big player in the Premier League.

The Czech Republic international re-joined Watford on a season-long loan this summer from Italian club and fellow Pozzo-owned side Udinese.

It’s Vydra’s second spell at Vicarage Road after he scored 22 goals in 47 games during the 2012/13 campaign.

He spent last season at Premier League side West Bromwich Albion but struggled to make an impact, netting only three goals in nine starts and 15 substitute appearances in all competitions.

The 22-year-old is now back in the Championship and is back scoring after he struck against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Sannino was asked about Vydra’s spell in the top flight after Saturday’s victory and said the striker has “his future in his hands”.

The Hornets head coach continued: “He is a young boy who showed in the past that he is a big player in the Championship.

“He tried in the Premier League and came back to the Championship but there is a time where this player can improve for his future.

“For me, this season has to be a year with a lot of goals for Vydra but also he has to improve.

“I believe with one year of goals and improvement then Vydra will become a big player in the Premier League as well.”

Just transfer his Agent! Keep him well away from Matty. You know it makes sense. Just keep knocking in those GOALS

If we knew what the question put to Saninno was it would be a lot easier to know what he means. I'm guessing that he's had to remind Vydra that only hard work will get him back to where he thinks he belongs.

Yes that agent can do one this season. I hope Vydra is learning to take better advice off the pitch as well as improving on it

Ighalo is clearly a talented lad but lost the ball a lot at Stevage.
He will be popular at Watford because of his effort and skill.
Mr fabrinni looks a better bet this year but has to stay on his feet more.
Exciting time !!

Just cant believe how lucky we are to get him back. I have no doubt he will be a top premiership striker. The Pozzos know he is going to be worth in excess of 15m if he is ever sold.

I was relieved that West Brom failed to play him in his best position or regularly enough to get the best out of him. He is such a classy striker. They will regret that.
Early days, and i hope I am wrong but I get the feeling Ighalo could be another Steve Beleck. Should be making his mark when given the opportunity.

Expect to be top of the league by fireworks night with a significant lead over 2nd if Deeney stays. But unlike, last time under Aidy, this squad has the power to see it through.

Not only is this squad capable of winning the league but will be our strongest premier league team by far . Not since the days of blissett and Barnes have we looked strong enough. Very exciting!

Maybe we should play the other 45 games before we name the starting XI in the Prem, but good positive thinking.
