Watford Harriers’ William Jarvis set a new club record in the javelin at the final Eastern Young Athletics meeting of the season.
The Under-13, who represented Hertfordshire at the recent Intercounties competition, broke the previous record with a distance of 36.02m as well as winning the discus with a distance of 22.96m.
Jarvis completed an impressive treble by clinching first place in the ‘B’ string shot put with a personal best of 7.60m on August 3.
Jess Biggerstock marked her debut by winning the Under-15 high jump. She cleared a height of 1.61m.
Remi Jessop set two new personal bests in the sprints, she finished first in the 100m in 12.80 and then was second in the 200m in 27.20.
Jess Emery built on a strong showing in the Eastern Athletics Championships by winning the Under-15 discus and shot put whilst Under-13 Taia Tunstall won the ‘A’ string javelin (15.01m) and shot put (7.26m).
In the ‘A’ string long jump, Marli Jessop was victorious with a distance of 4.14m.
