Division Nine

Abbots Langley Thirds recorded a nine-run win over Frogmore, who put on a good run chase before falling just short.

Batting first, Abbots pair Harry Khan (75) and Clive Winder (46) made a good start to take the home side to 150 for two.

Richard Merrit (37) and later Reza Khan (24), saw Abbots close of 203 for five.

Frogmore, though, looked dangerous and it was not until Chris Theaker (five for 51) and Lee Rossiter (four for 40) came to the middle the win was sealed, with Frogmore removed for 194.

Division Ten

Chorleywood Thirds succumbed to a three-wicket defeat at home to league-leaders Datchworth Seconds.

Wood struggled to form any effective partnerships and were removed for 146. Martin Tyler top-scored with 48 but he was the only Chorleywood batsmen to pass 20 runs.

Will Bryant (five for 12) gave an assured bowling performance for Wood, claiming five wickets and twice finding himself on a hat-trick in his seven overs.

However Datchworth eventually picked up the win in the 38th over as they reached 150 for seven.

Division 11 West

A disappointing performance from Langleybury Fourths saw them fall to a nine-wicket loss against Radlett Fifths.

Underwhelming batting from Bury saw the home side removed for 107 and was followed by similarly ineffective bowling as Radlett cruised to victory with 110 for two.

Division 12 West

Chorleywood Fourths ended their season in style by securing promotion with a 17-run win against fourth-place Shenley Village Fourths.

A strong opening stand from Sam Hatfield (50) was further built upon by Simon Dare, who passed 500 runs for the season.

Ed Rodgers (37) and Will Drummond (36 not out) then got in on the act, enabling Wood to finish on 172 for seven.

Gary Procter shone in the field after the changeover, taking four for 53, whilst Mick Rose became the division’s leading wicket-taker with his 40th dismissal.

Neil Hodson wrapped up proceedings with four wickets to dismiss Shenley for 157.

Abbots Langley Fourths ended their league campaign with a three-wicket win at Leverstock Green Fourths.

Hosts Levy set a sizeable target of 224 for four, with Scott Nixon (two for 37) the most effective Abbots bowler.

Ben Cornes (54) got the Abbots’ reply off to a flying start before Pete Bailey (25) and Mat Gentry (25) made important contributions.

With 69 required from nine overs, victory looked improbable but Muruli Vylur (15) and Kirit Patni (30 not out) had other ideas, powering Abbots home with 228 for seven.
