Leverstock Green begun the new campaign with back-to-back draws, with a stoppage time own goal denying them all three points at Holmer Green on Tuesday.

Ahead after 25 minutes when Jimmy Talbot struck, Levy looked set for their first win of the new season until Liam Hind headed past Kieron Jimmy from a corner after failing to hear his goalkeeper’s shout.

On Saturday, Levy twice came from behind to snatch a 3-3 draw against Cockfosters. Trailing after just three minutes to a goal from Adem Ali, Paul Somers equalised soon after. Isaac Carter-Allen and Luke Durnin then struck twice in quick succession for the visitors before the break, only for Hind and Sledge Mubama to level once more.

Levy host Newport Pagnell Town in the FA Cup extra preliminary round on Saturday before travelling to Hillingdon Borough on Tuesday.

Tring Athletic opened the season with a 1-1 draw at London Colney on Saturday – Christopher Vardy netting – before being trounced 5-1 against Berkhamsted on Tuesday. Taylor Collins got the consolation.

Holmer Green visit Cow Lane on Saturday in the FA Cup with a trip to Cockfosters on Tuesday.
