The Hornets' plans to partly open the new East Stand at Vicarage Road have been pushed back slightly after receiving a home draw in the League Cup.
The Golden Boys will play Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday in the second round of the competition and this has delayed work to the structure's turnstiles.
We understand the club are planning to partly open the stand for the match with Bournemouth on September 20 and could have the structure fully in use by the end of the month, with the Golden Boys facing Brentford on Tuesday, September 30. The next home game after that is against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, October 4.
The new stand will house around 3,400 fans and we believe it has cost the Pozzo family in excess of £3.5m.
