Watford midfielder Luke O’Nien has joined Conference South side Wealdstone for the rest of the season on a youth loan.

O’Nien was handed a second 12-month professional contract by the Hornets this summer after initially not receiving a deal.

The 19-year-old spent the final month of last season on loan at Wealdstone and the clubs have held discussions during the course of the summer regarding O’Nien’s return.

The midfielder, who has also played in defence for the Golden Boys, made his Watford debut as a late substitute in the 3-0 win over Barnsley in March – his only outing for the club.

Shame it's not at a higher level, but glad he's going to get some game time hopefully as he's a real prospect.

Not much choice is there! So many players in the squad Luke will not get a look in at WFC these days.

Ha ha - well the level below was high enough for Britt and Tommy to toughen up in Men's football and develop into fine players. Have a look at the standard some time..
