Oscar Garcia's appointment as Watford's new head coach has now been confirmed by the Hornets.

As we reported this morning, Watford had reached agreement for the former Brighton & Hove Albion head coach to succeed Beppe Sannino after he resigned on Sunday.

The former Barcelona coach was also wanted by Leeds United, but the Vicarage Road club have succeeded in securing their number one target for the job.

Great news, much as we loved hearing from Alec Chamberlain on the FLS, we needed to hear from the real man.

Coming in with the team sitting pretty at No 2 in the league, the Community Stand nearly finished and the Pozzos backing you, it's not a bad start to a new career, let's hope he stays

Welcome aboard Oscar. Would love to see Galli come in as his number two, but suspect he'll want his own man. Will miss Beppe, but either way, lets give our new man our full support.

Ode to Oscar

He came here from sunny Spain,
He went to Brighton, it was a drain,
He left the club full of pain,
Then he found Watford and he was chirpy again.

Oscar is named after the film award,
His mum is Spanish but she got bored,
She said ‘go and manage a decent club’
Along came Oscar with his tapas grub.

Now here he is at Vicarage tower,
Beppe’s gone, he was sunk by player power,
Oscar will seek to unite the dream,
He’ll aim to get us our Premiership dream.

The time has come for me to go,
I am eating chocolate, my belly will grow,
For I don’t care if I am a porker,
Ilove bas is Bristolhairnet’s stalker.

Always a pleasure

That may be tricky as the end only holds 3,000.

Wonder if they'll consider/are able to give us more....we've sold nearly 2,000 already and there's still 11 days to go.

It could be a bit lively.

Could not agree more any team worth its salt who were second in the league plus its a local fixture should be takings its full allocation . If you look a clubs with great away support i.e Portsmouth you know it would be an away sell out and unless you were quick you would not get a ticket.

Don't feel disconsolate H.C. I have noted others who have taken delectation over your odes. For some, prose is too much to digest, and goes way over their head. Others appreciate your levity and find it an oasis amid all the bickering on the site. You are the Sir John Betjaman of our loyal supporters.
