A hat-trick from Karl Penney helped Bedmond Sports and Social Club move into the second round of the Aubrey Cup after they defeated Sarratt 3-2 on Saturday.
Penney’s treble proved the difference between the two sides. Kyle Clifford and Richard Vercesi notched for Sarratt.
Belstone crashed out of the competition after they were beaten 5-4 by Wormley Rovers.
Darren Butler (2), Paul Killick and Darren Turner struck for Belstone but it wasn’t enough to prevent their side being knocked out.
There was an upset as Division One side Evergreen completed a 1-0 win against Premier Division outfit Mill End Sports while Bovingdon exited the cup after they were beaten 2-1 by Letchworth Garden City Eagles.
In Premier Division action, Chipperfield Corinthians played out a 2-2 draw with Bushey Sports Club. Dale Archer and Jack Garratt struck for Bushey while a Henry Hadaway brace ensured the points were shared.
