We first revealed the Sannino was close to losing his job as the Hornets head coach due to a number of off field issues.

Eleven days later and Sannino did leave Vicarage Road. He resigned before he was pushed.

Gino Pozzo wasted little time in finding a replacement. Spanish coach Oscar Garcia was appointed the club’s new head coach on Tuesday, September 2.

Watford Observer:

His first match in charge was a 1-0 defeat to Charlton on Saturday, September 13. The following day the Spaniard was admitted to hospital after suffering from chest pains.

He spent a week in hospital before being released on September 21

Oscar returned to training later that week but didn’t return to the touchline. He was in the directors’ box for the Hornets 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers, before it was announced he had resigned on Monday, September 29.

Billy McKinlay was named as his successor on the same day. His first game in charge was against Brentford last Tuesday, Watford clinched a 2-1 win.

Watford Observer:

He oversaw Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, it proved to be his last match in charge.

Reports surfaced yesterday that McKinlay was set to depart from Watford, the Hornets refused to comment last night.

However, we revealed this morning that the Scot will leave the Golden Boys after the club decided to bring in Slaviša Jokanović as head coach.
