Two days ago I was offered the Watford job. Actually I wasn't, but such a statement almost feels believable, which is why the past couple of months have been so weird to be a Hornets supporter...

My son is four years old, named Harry like the Hornet. He is obsessed with Lloyd Doyley and why he falls over so much.

On August 23 he went to his first ever game, we thrashed Leeds in a comical fashion. We were brilliant. The only downside was that I missed the penalty whilst in the toilet and then fell down the steps in the Vic Road End.

Since that happy day, we have lost more managers than games. It feels like 50 have left - all of them good.

We have become a joke, a farce - through the eyes of supporters from other clubs we are now just another team run by foreign mavericks.

We are Cardiff with their red shirts, Hull with their Tiger mess, Leeds appointing Hockaday.

"Who changes manager when you're only off top spot in the Championship on goal difference?" Nobody. "Who does it multiple times in a month?" Nobody. Go home Watford, you're drunk.

I didn't have time to love or hate Billy McKinlay, I am still not even entirely sure how to spell his name.

I am however sad that he is gone. I feel sorry for him, it was his big break. He gave up that Northern Ireland job, he did well to settle the squad and, seemingly, we've just tossed him aside.

His appointment felt surreal, his departure feels cruel. If there's any karma Billy will now get the Fulham job and humiliate us like Dyche.

So what's going on? I think there are two ways of looking at it...

Option One - looking at it calmly.

When you take all emotion out of this mess, this is perhaps what has happened.

The players did not enjoy Beppe Sannino's methods, and he resigned before results started to suffer. It was unfortunate but unavoidable.

After that Watford appointed a very good coach in Oscar Garcia, who unfortunately fell ill and could not continue.

Perhaps on Garcia's advice, the Pozzos appointed McKinlay but then they realised this was not truly their decision and in fact a mistake. Hence they had the guts to replace him before contracts were signed.

Option Two - looking at it hysterically.

We are hiring and firing on a whim. We have lost the plot, and nobody knows quite how or why.

Did Beppe place us under a gypsy curse on his way out? What's happened in Gino's mind? Is it all actually Lloyd Dyer's fault?

I know there are people out there, actual humans on social networks, who feel it all started to go wrong when "Shorty" got the axe as the man with the microphone pre-match.

I don't know which option most closely resembles the real truth, and let’s not kid ourselves this is a mess, but also let's not panic too much.

The East Stand is a little bit open, we didn't sell Troy, we ain't broke, we are third despite an injury crisis and we have just appointed someone who might just do alright.

We don't know if Slavisa Jokanovic is going to be any good but the Pozzo family have provided a situation at the football club where he'd have to be a complete clown to fail.

I doubt Jokanovic is that clown. But if he were to walk out at Hillsborough with giant shoes, red nose, painted face and squirty flower, well we'll just sack him right? That's what Watford do now!

That's our thing. And just think how much it will annoy opposition fans if we do go up having sacked at least a couple more...
