Darren Turner hit a hat-trick as Belstone won 5-2 at Lemsford on Saturday to maintain a healthy lead in second place in the Premier Division.

Despite playing a game less than most teams around them, Belstone remain two points off league leaders Hatfield Social and six ahead of third-placed Bovingdon.

Jamie Arthur and Danny Johnson got Belstone’s other goals.

Bovingdon were 2-0 victors at Cuffley, with George Loosely and Harry Slade hitting the back of the net.

Bedmond Sports and Social Club were trounced 6-1 at top-of-the-table Hatfield; Karl Penny netting their consolation strike.

Sarratt eased to a comfortable 4-1 victory at home to Wormley Rovers, where there were braces for Mark Shanahan and Richard Vercesi.

Mill End Sports won 2-1 at Standon and Puckeridge. Ryan Barow and Karl Swan scored for Sports, who sit seventh.

Chipperfield Corinthians went down to a 1-0 defeat at Hertford Heath.

Old Parmiterians were held to a 1-1 draw at AFC Hatfield, with Darren Grieves on target for the visitors.
