Bedmond produced the undoubted shock result of the season so far when they defeated United FC 4-3 yesterday.

United, who had won their first five league games, were stunned by a superb performance from the Tom’s Lane-based side.

Tedi Prushi scored a fine volley after 25 minutes to give Bedmond the lead, before Jordan Davies scored two goals in as many minutes ten minutes later to hand his side a surprise 3-0 advantage.

Darren O’Brien pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time to give United hope of a comeback.

It was an even second half with both sides missing chances, but Prushi netted his second of the game with 15 minutes left when he followed home a loose ball after the United keeper failed to hold his initial effort.

United were not finished and O’Brien scored his second of the match, before Steven Ward pulled a third back with the final kick of the contest.

Watford Labour Club made it two wins out of two games so far in the Chairman’s Cup following a 2-0 victory over Dynamo Croxley, with Peter Hurwood scoring both goals in either half.

Carpenders Park Rangers Reserves threw away a 3-1 half-time lead to draw 3-3 at WD Athletic, who top this group with four points from two games.

Harley Mead scored a fine solo goal to give the visitors the lead. WD soon pulled level, before Tam Hughes and a second from Mead - this time from the penalty spot - looked to have given Rangers a chance of all three points.

But WD rallied in the final 15 minutes, scoring twice. Pat Turner netted a brace for Athletic, with Pat Armstrong getting the other goal.

Woodlands Laurels and Roundbush, who both have not had the best of starts to the league season, drew 1-1.

Daryl Lee gave Woodlands an early lead but a goal from Blaise Shevrington in the second half ensured that the pints where shared.

Old Danes Athletic and Hertfordshire Lions must be sick of the sight of each other as they clashed for a fourth time in the opening eight weeks of the season.

Athletic won the game easily 5-1, meaning that they have had the better of the meetings between the teams so far with two wins and a draw to a single defeat by Lions in the second leg of the Birkdale Challenge Cup.

Tom McConway was the star man for Old Danes as he scored four times, with the other goal coming from Chris White. Louis McNamara netted for Lions.

Meriden Ballers and Cassiobury Revolution drew 1-1.

John Hall put Meriden ahead in the first half before Juan Villar equalised after his team struck the woodwork three times during the game, although the point means Revolution top the group table after two matches with four points.
