Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Two
Old Danes Athletic made it through it through to the third round of the competition following a 2-1 victory over Berkhamsted Tornados Reserves after extra-time yesterday.
The visitors went ahead after half-an-hour with a well-taken header from a corner. That looked like being the winning goal until 15 minutes from time when Old Danes finally broke through the Tornados rearguard thanks to Tom Wilson's equaliser.
The additional 30 minutes swung from end to end with both teams missing clear chances to go ahead, but with time running out in the second period Craig Bennett scored the winner with a bullet header after a run and cross by Chris White.
Old Danes reward is a trip to the wonderfully-named Jam United, a team once again from the Berkhamsted Sunday League, on December 7.

Dean Donnolly was the star of the game for Prince George as he scored all four of his team’s goals. Scott Cain netted the sole Bushey goal.

Daryl Lee put Woodlands ahead from the penalty spot after just two minutes. Jack Browes equalised for Bedmond after 25 minutes and two minutes later Tedi Prushi put them ahead. But Woodlands drew level just before the break thanks to a goal from Yash Sookdele.
In the second half Bedmond stepped up the pressure and they scored three times thanks to goals from Jordan Davies, debutant Connor Winn and Owen Scully. Woodlands pulled a third back late on through Tim Woodward.
Harley Mead scored four times as Carpenders Park Rangers Reserves saw off Roundbush 6-1.
Blake Scott and Matt Westwood were also on target for the victors, with Joe Sugden netting the sole Bush reply.
