Watford have been drawn away to Premier League leaders Chelsea in the third round of the FA Cup.

The match will see head coach Slavisa Jokanovic take his Hornets side back to the club he joined for £1.7 million and where he played from October 2000 to July 2002.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the competition since 2010 when Watford travelled to Stamford Bridge in the third round and were beaten 5-0 thanks to a Daniel Sturridge brace, a John Eustace own goal and further efforts from Flourent Malouda and Frank Lampard.

That was the fourth FA Cup tie in seven years between the Hornets and the Blues - in 2004 Chelsea were held to a 2-2 third round draw at Vicarage Road before winning the replay 4-0, while in 2009 a Tamas Priskin strike gave Watford hope of an upset at home in a fifth round clash, but Chelsea progressed as 3-1 victors courtesy of a Nicolas Anelka hat-trick.

Jose Mourinho's side currently lead the Premier League by three points, having suffered their first defeat of the season at the weekend at Newcastle United, and his club boast a proud record in the FA Cup this century, having won it five times including the 1999/2000 season and twice after beating the Hornets en route to the final in 2009 and 2010.

The tie will be played over the weekend of Saturday, January 3.
