Watford have confirmed Gabriele Angella will not leave the club in January despite the defender being linked with a return to Udinese.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb reported yesterday that Little Zebras boss Andrea Stramaccioni wanted to sign a defender with Angella the club’s target.
However, Watford today stated that the centre-back would not be leaving the Hornets for any club in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old is in his second season at Vicarage Road after arriving from Udinese in the summer of 2013.
Angella has made 55 appearances for the Hornets, with ten of those coming this season.
He has netted eight times for Watford and won the club’s 2013/2014 goal of the season for his back heel volley against Nottingham Forest (below).
