Trevor Sargent has been appointed as the new Senior Men’s captain of Little Hay Golf Club.

Previous incumbent, Paul Thompson, wound up his year of office by announcing Little Hay had raised £1,700 for the captain’s charity – Watford Shopmobility – enabling the purchase of an additional scooter which would be identified as having been donated by Little Hay.

Sargent, who had been the seniors’ vice-captain for the past year, announced his chosen charity as Rennie Grove Hospice Care. He also appointed Paul Whiter as his deputy.

John Ridgewell won the seniors’ December stableford with 43 points, bettering Paul Thompson in second (41) and Andy Serguides in third (40).

Round three of the Winter League sees a tie between Caroline Banks/Chris Marsden and Chris Vewnner/Jake Conroy for first place, with both pairs on 89 points.

There is also a tie for third, where Matt Armstrong/Paul Rolfe, Alan Freeman/John Leahy and Maureen Bidgeway/Sargent all have 88 points.
