Watford’s FA Cup third round tie at Chelsea will be played on Sunday, January 4 and will kick-off at 4pm, the Blues have confirmed.
There was always a possibility the game would be played on the Sunday as, unlike the Championship, there is a full Premier League fixture list on New Year's Day, with Jose Mourinho's men travelling to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a 5.30pm kick off.
Furthermore, Chelsea's west London neighbours Fulham and Queens Park Rangers have also been drawn at home in the third round and this will also have been a significant factor in deciding when the tie will take place.
Should Slavisa Jokanovic's side hold Chelsea to a draw, the replay will be at Vicarage Road on Tuesday, January 13 at 7.45pm.
